Safe Donor AreaThe permanent hair at the back of the head is referred to as donor hair by hair transplant surgeons. The donor area is genetically resistant
to Male Pattern Hair Loss (MPHL). Hair transplantation is the relocation
of hair follicles from the donor area to the balding areas on the front
and top of the head. For the individual with sufficient donor hair,
surgical hair restoration is the most effective and carefree answer
to hair loss.
Once established, the transplanted follicles will grow normally in their new location after a brief resting period or 4-6 months. The "new" hair will live and grow throughout the person's lifetime just as if it once grew in the donor area. It can be cut, styled, coloured or permed like real hair because it is real hair.
